Description
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Trouble-shoot and perform maintenance on high speed packaging equipment.
  • Meet production requirements (pounds per week) outlined by Packaging Manager or Supervisor.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork on time and in an accurate fashion.
  • Set up and change packaging line equipment specifications on an as needed basis.
  • Make equipment adjustments to maximize product efficiency.
  • Complete all paperwork and mandatory production checks.
  • Maintain line in a clean and sanitary manner at all times.
  • Ensure that line packers are performing job duties as outlined via the Line Packer job description.
  • Ensure that employees are abiding by all Carl Buddig and Company policies via the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Train new and existing employees on the required job duties.
  • Discuss employees that have breached company policy or are not meeting performance metrics with the Packaging Manager or Supervisor.
  • Possess knowledge of and familiarity with the job responsibilities and requirements.
  • Must be highly attentive to detail (i.e. meat type/film/date).
  • Willingness and ability to manage a team of employees.
Primary Requirements:
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 or more hours per week.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as needed, first or second shift.
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to pass an assessment of math and reasoning knowledge.
  • Must have mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years of age
Essential Functions:
  • Must be able to stand for 8-9 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Must have good hand and eye coordination.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
Preferred Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
  • 1-2 years related work experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP and USDA regulations preferred.
