Summary:

 

Crew Leader Processing is responsible for producing a safe and quality food product per USDA guidelines and are required to report all food safety related problems to their supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis.

 

Work Environment:

 

  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 34 degrees or less.

  • Must be flexible and able to work as needed (currently two shifts).

  • Must be able to work in a high speed environment.

  • Implement proper procedures for processing department.

  • Create processing department schedules to ensure that all processing is performed and completed in a timely fashion.

  • Analyze situations to provide solutions that are in the best interest of the company.

  • Perform all supervisory functions except disciplinary action towards employees.

  • Assign daily tasks to other processing department employees.

  • Monitor processing department employees’ progress on assigned tasks.

  • Make decisions pertaining to production errors and deviations

  • Maintain accurate records and reports.

  • Maintain a safe work environment by watching out for foot traffic: following standards and procedures: complying with legal regulations per all forklift operations.

  • Utilize Incure computer batching procedure to correctly document product flow and correct mistakes when necessary.

  • Participate in monthly inventory process.

  • Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.

 

Company Expectations:

 

  • Maintain a good rapport with all Carl Buddig and Company co-workers.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company employee handbook.

  • Take responsibility in your area of employment with Carl Buddig and Company for reporting, making recommendations and correcting situations adverse to the company’s best interest.

  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce product safely. Report all safety related issues to your Supervisor, Processing Manager, or the Safety Manager.

  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.

  • Report all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be able to stand up to12 hours per day.

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

  • Must have basic computer skills.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds

  • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week.

  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.

  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.

  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

  • Must pass the Carl Buddig and Company Forklift Training and Evaluation Program on an annual basis.

  • Must be able to manage a team of employees.

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Ability to legally work in the United States is required.

  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • 1-2 years related work experience is preferred.
